Jessica Simpson, an American actress and singer discovered this to be true herself. She lived in a $ 3 million mansion in California when she was filming her documentary series Newlyweds after her marriage to singer Nick Lachey there. The marriage ended after the series and after 3 years Jessica and Nick announced their divorce. Only weeks after this fact was made public Jessica had to discover from the newspapers that she successfully purchased her new home.

The house that she now owns used to be owned by presenter Ellen DeGeneres and cost her $5.3 million. For that money she has 7 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms in California.
