Sometimes parodies go really well, but in other times they are not worthy any attention. According to various movie critics Dance Flick, the parody created by Wayans family, deserves a “rotten” score because it is “depressingly stupid”. The comedy collected as many negative descriptions as only few movies can get. The Digital Spy wrote that it is a “cheap, dire, tedious, unfunny, offensive and desperate attempt to induce laughter”.

The film was written and produced by Wayans brothers, directed by their nephew Damien Dante Wayans and stars Damon Wayans, Jr. It tells about a girl who loves dancing and a young man who is extremely good in street dancing, but cannot practice much, because he is busy working for an obese gang lord. After a little while they meet, fall in love and hang out together.

Whether to watch the Dance Flick or not everybody decides for him- or herself. Some people relax while watching simple movies with no deep plot and with “jokes about bodily functions or homosexuality”, while others cannot stand films of this sort. At any rate the parody deserves to exist, because there are viewers that might enjoy it!
