Ex-Gangster at Linewatch for US/Mexico Border

April 6th, 2009

Different things happen at the border: while some people are going to different countries with legal documents and legal reasons, the others try to break the laws by any means they can find.

The main character of Linewatch works at US/Mexico border. Michael Dixon is a really good worker who is highly respected, however, he has his skeleton in the closet that a gang pulls out trying to threaten him in order to push a truck full of drugs across the border.

The movie has received mixed reviews. Imdb.com users gave it 5.4 points out of 10, Flixter.com rated Linewatch with three stars out of five, and on DVDTalk it has 2.5 stars out of 5. Rated R by MPAA for violence and language, the film is viewed as a gangster one: big guys on SUVs, a lot of shooting and rude speech.

Many critics admit the plot is not perfect, has some “holes” and does not tell much story. And a movie of this kind does not require an interesting plot; it is usually watched for action. The creators of Linewatch did their job in the genre they picked: dialogue and acting are good, the speech of the characters is full of gangster slang, maybe not too much as in some other movies, but enough to get the point.
