Jumper Crew Visits 14 Countries
Jumper is a sci-fi film that tells about a young man who found out that he could transport himself to any place on the Earth. Later on he also discovered there were other people who could “jump” as well and hunters which were ready to get rid of people with this special ability.
Following the idea of the plot the movie itself had many “jumps” in production. Although the script is based on a 1992 science fiction novel, it has been rewritten several times and barely reflects the book. Cast has not been set completely from the very beginning; the roles for main characters have been changed during the production.
In order to show the atmosphere in the Jumper more realistic the shooting crew had to visit 20 cities and 14 countries. They started with several places in Canada, moved to Italy where they had a great opportunity to shoot in Colosseum and Pantheon. Later the crew went to Japan, U.S. and many other places.
Although critics did not like the Jumper and rated it poorly, it received a lot of attention from the audience. On its opening weekend the Jumper grossed $27.3 million taking the first position. Worldwide box-office collection was almost $222 million.
