Remember the Titans and Their Great Coach
Remember the Titans is the beginner of many other sport films produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The plot f the movie is based on the true story, which happened in Alexandria, Virginia in 1971. To keep the mood of that time the movie makers used a lot of 1960-70’s hits such as “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye”, “I Want to Take You Higher”, etc.
Even though several critics admitted Remember the Titans is one of the “Denzel (Washington) against the world” films, many of them still loved the movie for various different reasons. It was called “an inspiring movie” as well as the picture which shows the society “overcoming racial prejustice”.
Disney spent $30 million on the creation of the movie, filming it at different schools and colleges in Georgia, but it was not meant to be a great box-office collector. As many of other Disney projects, Remember the Titans was aired on different channels like ABC, TBS, TNT and the Disney Channel itself. Two years after the movie was made, it was shown on January 20 (2003) in honor to martin Luther King Jr. Day and in August of 2008 the Disney company announced they will continue to air Remember the Titans on this day.
