The Seventh Film of the Saga – Star Wars: The Clone Wars
The admirers of Star Wars might be excited to see the new story about Jedi warriors and the life of the Galactic Republic in the CGI animated science fiction film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It was released in August 2008 in Australian, American and British theatres.
The plot is set between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. As always Jedi Knights do their best to restore order and peace in the Galaxy while the Separatists and their droid army have great plans to ruin everything.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was created to work as both: an individual story and a beginning of animated television series which started in October 2008. It was distributed by Warner Bros., instead of 20th Century Fox, which worked on the other Star Wars films. It was not directed by George Lucas though he has seen the script and gave some ideas for it. To his mind The Clone Wars was “almost an afterthought”.
The film grossed $68 million worldwide in box-office collection, but critics were absolutely disappointed with it. Entertainment Weekly said that Star Wars: The Clone Wars was one of the five worst movies of 2008. Rotten Tomatoes gave it only 19% positive reviews and Top Critics viewed only 12% positive.
