Since 1989 the creators of the show are making a satirical comedy which shows American culture and life-style.

There have been several attempts to create a movie version of The Simpsons, but it failed mostly because of lack of the good script which would have enough length for the whole film. Five years of work and hundreds of re-written scripts turned into what you can see now as The Simpsons movie.

The producers of the film worked with several advertising companies and by the time of the presentation of The Simpsons even the youngest Americans knew about the new animated story of the family.

The audience loved the movie! The cinema theatres were full with people who desired to see the renewed Simpsons. The film collected $526 million at the box office!

The critics approved it too. It was noted by many of them, The Simpsons movie was made much better than the last seasons of the show. Several magazines pointed out very good cultural references and political messages in the film.

The Simpsons was nominated for many awards, not all of them were won, but the ones the movie received were Best Comedy Film from British Comedy Awards, Best Animation from ITV National Movie awards and Best Movie from the UK Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
